NI Farm Toy & Model Show

14th April & 24th Nov 2017

The Northern Ireland Farm Toy and Model Show takes place at  Magherabuoy House Hotel in Portrush from 2.00pm to 10.00pm on Good Friday 14th April and Friday 24th November 2017. The event has a wide range of  toy and model tractors, implements and machinery. North West 200 

7th – 13th May 2017

The North West 200 is the opening international road race of the season and has always enjoyed the support of the world’s top road racers and their teams. The week long festival on the spectacular Causeway coast will begin on Sunday May 7 and will include two days of practice on Tuesday 9 and Thursday 11 with racing on Thursday evening and Saturday 13. This will be supplemented by a full programme of supporting family events throughout the week.


The Coastal Clash

20th – 21st May 2017

CrossFit Coleraine will host another Coastal Clash event at Hilltop Caravan Park. This competition will display CrossFit athletes ranging from 35-60+ years, battling it out to find the fittest masters athletes from CrossFit gyms all across the Province and the south.



Portrush Raft Race

27th May 2017

Portrush Raft Race will take place at the Harbour in Portrush as part of a jam-packed bank holiday weekend of harbour-side family mayhem and fun. As well as being enormous fun on the beautiful north coast, it’s an important annual event for the RNLI and the town of Portrush. All the funds raised by Portrush Raft Race go directly to the local branch. In 2015 274 brave souls, a mix friends, families and corporate teams, competing on over 50 rafts raising money for the local RNLI Lifeboat Station.


Rathlin Sound Maritime Festival

26th – 4th June 2017

The festival is centred on Rathlin Sound, the body of water that lies between Rathlin Island and Ballycastle. From the adrenaline rush of the Sailing Regatta and races as well as exciting and informative talks and tours, exhibitions and demonstrations, fun competitions, laid back lunches, friendly giants, curraghs and Viking ships, there is plenty to choose from including fantastic family friendly events.



Causeway Coast Ford Fair

4th June 2017

The Causeway Coast Ford Fair (CCFF) is by far the largest car display event to be held in Ireland each year. The event attracts upwards on 10,000 people each year, with over 400 static Ford vehicles including vintage, modern and sport on display. Giving the public a fantastic opportunity to browse through many years of the Ford product and also offers a fabulous family day out for everyone. Now in its 13th year, the show has become a huge attraction on the causeway coast, with and estimated 10,000 visitors and participants.



Danny Boy Jazz & Blues Festival

7th – 11th June 2017

The Roe Valley comes alive with the sounds of its longest running festival. 2017 marks the 21st year of the Danny Boy Jazz and Blues Festival, filling the streets of Limavady with top quality musical acts from far and wide. Held each year in early June, showcasing the best jazz and blues sounds from across the globe. There are family-friendly events and more throughout the 20th annual Roe Valley weekender.



Bushmills & Salmon & Whiskey Festival

18th – 20th June 2017

A two day festival celebrating food and drink producers from Northern Ireland. Tastings, workshops, food demos, live music, dance troupes, artisan stalls, street performers during this popular foodie weekend. Whiskey barrel roll, salmon station tour, book reading, fashion show, evening entertainment in the bars and restaurants, town tour, free parking.



Pirates Off Portrush

1st July 2017

One of the most popular events of the year, Pirates Off Portrush, returns to the seaside resort on Saturday 1st July and this time the historical pirate, Tavish Dhu, faces one of his scariest foes yet! The day has a packed programme of treasure hunts, outdoor disco, open top bus, street theatre and free Bam-Bam sticks and face painters. The event is free and families are urged to dress-up as pirates and join-in the fun.


Irish Open 2017

4th – 10th July 2017

The 2017 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open (6 – 9 July) hosted by the Rory Foundation will return to Northern Ireland with Portstewart Golf Club, considered as one of the Northern Ireland’s finest links courses, staging the European Tour event for the first time. It will be the third time in six years that Ireland’s national Open has been held in the north, with Royal Portrush playing host in 2012 and Royal County Down taking over in 2015.

If you love playing games, having a laugh, singing, asking the hard questions, thinking about things, relaxing, chatting and making new friends then an SU Mission is the place to be! SU Missions (you might know it as CSSM) bring together children and young people from all over the country to celebrate God’s Good News through games, studying the Bible, drama, chats, craft and just getting to know each other.



Super Cup NI

23rd – 28th July 2017

SuperCupNI (formerly NI Milk Cup) was established in 1983 and quickly progressed to become one of the most prestigious youth football tournaments in Europe, if not the world. The competition is based at Coleraine and several surrounding towns – Ballymoney, Limavady, Portstewart, Portrush, Castlerock, Ballymena and Broughshane. The event has attracted teams from almost 60 countries around the world including Europe, the USA, Africa, the Far East, South America, the Middle East, Australia, Russia, New Zealand and Canada.


Red Sails Festival

23rd – 29th July 2017

Taking place in the picturesque seaside town of Portstewart, the festival is a non-profit making festival organised by the Charitable Portstewart Community Association. Its voluntary members are involved in all aspects of organising, planning, fund raising and implementing of the events. The majority of the entertainment and events are free and a wide range of family and children’s activities including  Workshops, Street Theatre and Talent competition.



New Horizon

5th – 11th August 2017

New Horizon is the largest Christian event in Northern Ireland, attracting 5,000 people a day.  Running at the University of Ulster in Coleraine since 1989, New Horizon is more than a conference – it is a time of refreshment, challenge, inspiration and encouragement for all the family with vibrant worship, evening celebrations, morning Bible teaching, topical seminars and high-energy Youth and Children’s programmes.



Ballycastle Tennis Tournament

6th – 20th August 2017

The facility hosts two annual tennis tournaments, one in July and another in August. The August tournament is less competitive and with an entry from all over Europe contributes substantially to the local economy because of the numbers attending. This is reported to be the largest entry for any tournament in Ireland! Spectators come from near and far to enjoy this unique event at the seafront in Ballycastle. East, Australia, Russia, New Zealand and Canada.



International Pipe Band Competition

19th August 2017 (TBC)

The annual North West Pipe Band Championships and Champion of Champions competition, sponsored by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, in association with Causeway Chamber, has been a summer highlight since the 1950s and its popularity shows no sign of weakening.



Causeway Coast Truck Fest

20th August 2017

The Causeway Coast truckfest is a festival that takes place on Sunday at the Pits Area at 10 am. Included at the event is the following entertainment: Live music by Joe Moore, family entertainment including bouncy castles, face painting and the Truck Convoy round the NW200 circuit. As information for this event is limited it is best to view the events Facebook page.



Ballycastle Annual Horse and Vintage Show

26th August 2017

This is an annual unique event showcasing the finest in Heavy Horses. Not to be missed and suitable for all ages. Last years event proved to be very successful with the entrants travelling from far and wide to Ballycastle and proved very popular with locals and tourists.



Causeway Mini Weekend

26th – 27th August 2017

The Mini fun starts with a fun run from Bushmills Distillery Car Park to Portstewart on Saturday night. Then on Sunday, the green at Dunluce becomes a sea of Minis as drivers congregate from 10.00am. Onlookers can view the cars, chat to the owners and have a browse around the many stalls and stands. The show features over seventeen classes of cars both classic and new-style minis.


Ould Lammas Fair

28th – 29th August 2017

‘The Ould Lammas Fair’ has taken place annually in Ballycastle, Co Antrim, since the seventeenth century. Celebrated on the last Monday and Tuesday in August, the fair marks the end of summer and beginning of harvest. The origins of the fair are embroiled in the myths and legends of Ireland, although the tradition such festivals can be found in many cultures throughout the world.


Airwaves Festival

2nd – 3rd September 2017

Air Waves Portrush takes place on the eastern side of the resort allowing use of the improved display line and the spectacular backdrop of the Giant’s Causeway and Dunluce Castle. Spectating is possible all along the eastern peninsula (1.5km) but the best viewing of the air displays is at Village North (Lansdowne Green). Exhibition space is divided between two main areas – Village North (Lansdowne Green) and Village South (East Strand car park).



World Surf Kayak

20th – 29th October 2017

The competition will showcase surf kayakers from accross the world including; Australia, America, Japan, Costa Rica and Europe and competitors from the United Kingdom and Ireland competing to be the best team and individual. Come along to East Strand, Portrush and watch the action. It is scheduled to run over a nine day period in October 2017 and will welcome visitors, competitors and their families to the north coast.

The Giant’s Causeway Coast Sportive, in association with Chain Reaction Cycles Flagship Store Belfast, is a unique event based on the iconic North Coast of Ireland offering an unforgettable cycling experience through some of the most breathtaking landscapes in Ireland. This leisure event is one of the biggest road cycling events in Northern Ireland attracting over 1,400 participants to last years event. Cyclists have the choice of 3 routes (57km; 126km; 182km) which all start and finish in the small rural seaside town of Ballycastle in County Antrim.

Atlantic Sessions

16th – 19th November 2017

Atlantic Sessions showcases over 50 artists in over 30 venues throughout four days. Cafes, restaurants, hotels, pubs, coffee shops, music venues and the Town Halls across Portrush, Portstewart and Portballintrae will be lit up with gigs from the finest performers across Northern Ireland.  Audiences can follow music trails in intimate venues throughout the three resorts with a different live performance taking place every hour, and it’s all admission free.
